ma - liminal space

29 — 31 may 2026
calea grivitei 78a · bucharest

in japanese culture, ma describes the space between things, the silence between notes that gives meaning to the entire composition.

between 29 and 31 may 2026, phenomena laboratory opens ma, a new multidisciplinary cultural space conceived as a liminal environment where architecture, emotion, perception and experience converge.

developed inside a building designed by architect dorin stefan, ma unfolds as a vertical experiential journey structured across multiple conceptual levels, each representing a symbolic stage of transformation, exploration and reflection.

from rūtsu, the immersive underground gallery where matter learns emotion, to seiiki, the symbolic sanctuary of introspection, the building functions as a living spatial narrative exploring the relationship between environment and human consciousness.

through immersive installations, sensory interventions, architectural objects, light, sound and spatial storytelling, feelings0526 investigates how space can influence emotion, behavior, memory and human connection.

more than an opening event, ma · liminal space marks the beginning of a new cultural and creative ecosystem in the grivița area, bringing together communities from architecture, design, fashion, hospitality, art and interdisciplinary practices.

the event is curated by phenomena laboratory, a multidisciplinary architectural and creative studio exploring emotional architecture, liminal space and the future relationship between people and the environments they inhabit.
